Character Education and Civic Engagement Technical Assistance Center (CETAC)
U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools (OSDFS)
Promotes character education and civic engagement through research, technical assistance, events, and other resources. Also links to presentations and handouts from a federally funded training program on how to use correctional education data for program improvement, accountability, and strategic planning.

Correctional Education Data Network (CEDN)
U.S. Department of Education, Office of Correctional Education
Provides an online, searchable version of the Correctional Education Data Guidebook, which summarizes key policy issues in correctional education and provides related variables and suggested coding instructions developed in collaboration with state correctional education administrators, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Also offers discussion forums and links to reports on correctional education data.

Correctional Education Special Collection
National Institute for Literacy (NIFL)
Maintained by the Correctional Education Association (CEA), this site provides a comprehensive collection of resources for basic skills and literacy programs in correctional education.

Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP)
U.S. Department of Justice
The "links" section of the BOP site takes visitors to a variety of resources, including research and descriptions of correctional education programs, such as work in prison industries, vocational training, parenting and anger management classes, counseling, and life skills training.

The National Center on Education, Disability, and Juvenile Justice (EDJJ)
Funded by the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education. Provides training and technical assistance related to delinquency prevention, education, and special education services for youth detained in correctional facilities. Technical assistance includes e-mail or phone consultation, conferences and other events, and publications. Youth in adult correctional settings are an explicit target group of EDJJ.

The National Institute of Corrections (NIC)
U.S. Department of Justice
Supports federal, state, and local corrections agencies through direct assistance in the areas of correctional leadership training, technical assistance, and information services. Also collaborates with correctional agencies to provide job training and placement services, transitional support from prison to the community, and cognitive behavior change programs for offenders and ex-offenders. Also hosts a resource center that provides online access to publications, training materials, websites, and other resources on topics such as correctional education.

The Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative
U.S. Department of Justice
Provides information on the re-entry grant initiative of five partnering federal agencies. Projects in the states are funded to provide model integrated re-entry programs. Offers resources for practitioners that cut across program areas.
